Findalo vs Algolia

The European Algolia alternative — predictable pricing with semantic AI included.

Algolia is excellent, but pay-as-you-go billing (per search and per record) explodes with large catalogs, and semantic AI (NeuralSearch) only kicks in on higher tiers. Findalo: flat pricing, AI included from Pro €49/month, European hosting.

Why switch to Findalo.

  • Semantic AI at the price Algolia charges for basic search

Algolia's NeuralSearch is reserved for high-tier plans (~$500+/month). Findalo Pro €49 includes AI-powered search, concept understanding, and typo tolerance — always on.

  • Predictability

Algolia's usage-based billing is honest, but at the end of the month you may find unexpected invoices if you've grown the catalog. Findalo: same amount every month, known on day 1.

  • Built for stores, not generic

Algolia is a generic search engine (used for docs, e-commerce, apps...). Findalo is built for stores: automatic feature-based filters, customer-specific pricing, labels (sale/out of stock), add-to-cart straight from the results.

  • Ready-to-use connectors

Algolia ships SDKs, but the PrestaShop or WooCommerce connectors have to be maintained separately. Findalo brings native modules with automatic sync that detects changes and applies only those.

  • EU servers without the compliance paperwork

Algolia has a presence in the EU, but the connection defaults to the US. Findalo is always in Europe with zero configuration — your customers' DPOs and legal teams will appreciate it.

Migrating from Algolia: frequently asked questions.

Algolia has NeuralSearch / AI. What about Findalo?

Findalo Pro (€49) includes semantic search with AI: it understands concepts ("dark circles" → "eye contour"), tolerates extreme typos, and figures out what the customer wants to find. Algolia reserves NeuralSearch for ~$500+/month plans; Findalo includes it from Pro, always on.

How does migration work?

If you already have Algolia configured, we can import your index settings (synonyms, custom ranking) into Findalo. We provide a script for it. The only frontend change is pointing to the new search engine — your UI stays the same.

What if I outgrow Findalo?

Business plan €149 covers up to 12,000 products and 500K searches/month. For larger catalogs Enterprise (€499) goes up to 50,000 products and 5M searches — still cheaper than the Algolia equivalent.

Algolia has Search & Recommend, A/B testing, Click Analytics. Does Findalo cover all of that?

Yes. Recommendations (similar / FBT / bestsellers) included on Findalo Pro (€49), no separate add-on. Click Analytics and A/B testing also on Pro. Image search included from Business.
